MOTHERBOARD

in a computer, motherboard holds a very important role in the process. because all processes running through the motherboard

FUNCTION MOTHERBOARD

  • Central controller that regulates the work of all the components attached to it.
  • Manage the electrical power on any PC components.
Data traffic are all governed by the motherboard, ranging from storage devices (hard disks, CD-ROM), data input devices (keyboard, mouse, scanner), or a printer to print.

Developments Motherboard
In the late 1980s and during the decade of the 1990s, to the PC processor market is dominated by Intel. There are several companies processors for PCs, but their influence is far less than Intel. Besides the average processor made them still take Intel's x86 design as well. Beginning in the late 90's and early 2000, conditions changed. Processor market is no longer so dependent on Intel, because their competitor, AMD, K6-2 processor issue and the Athlon that was able to compete with processors made by Intel. And in the same year an industry producing chipsets from Taiwan, VIA Technologies, have also been able to make a quality chipset and priced. The motherboard manufacturer is no longer dependent on Intel to design and make their motherboards, so that developments in technology and design of the motherboard has increased very rapidly. Addition, overclocking fever also contributed a role in the development of the world's motherboards. The motherboard manufacturers vying to remove the motherboard that is designed to provide a high level of overclocking, but still able to maintain system stability. Anyway, if there is a motherboard that can not be used to overclock the processor and memory, then almost certainly the motherboard is not sold in the market.

TERMS ON THE MOTHERBOARD

1. BIOS
Stands for Basic Input / Output System. Motherboard is a collection of information and also the software contains the basic commands. Its main function is as a means of communication between the operating system with hardware that is installed on the motherboard.
2. Bus
The term which states that the data flow system used hardware installed on the motherboard to communicate with the processor. The unit used is usually the frequency (Hertz) or the width of data bits.
3. Clock Speed
This term is used to denote the speed of a processor or other components. Figures obtained from the multiplication clock speed multiplier to the FSB. The higher clock speed, the higher the performance generated by the processor or hardware component. The unit used is usually megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). Usually referred to as an external speed of a processor.
4. FSB
Stands for Front Side Bus, which is the main bus that connects the processor to the motherboard chipset. The unit used is megahertz (MHz).
5. Heatsink
Components are placed on the processor. Its function is to absorb the heat generated when the processor works. Typically a heatsink fitted a fan to keep the processor temperature remains stable.
6. Overclocking
A technique done to improve the performance of the processor, memory, or graphics card, or by increasing the FSB clock speed component. This technique requires a special cooling system components, because it produces excessive heat, in which excess heat can damage the system. PC
